• “I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.” Rom 10:20

Once you come to grips with just how filthy of a scumbag sinner you really are, you should be extra excited when you think about the grace and the forgiveness God gives you every second that your breathing! Thank you Lord!! I am a completely undeserving person to receive a gift of this magnitude. I could sit for hours telling you reasons why there is no way that, this gift is for me… That is why my mind gets blown every time I sit and think about it. God knows everything you have ever said, and done and He even knows the things I only think about doing. And in the midst of all that He comes down in the body of Jesus and gives us direct access! He gives us freedom! I no longer have to worry about being successful enough to deserve God! No longer do the past sins weigh me down and paralyze my spiritual life. With faith I accept that gift and with Jesus helping me every step of the way I will try to live my life as a tribute to Christ for what He has done for me!

But if it is by grace (His unmerited favor and graciousness), it is no longer conditioned on works or anything men have done. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace [it would be meaningless]. Rom 11:6

God didn’t pick me because I was special or because I’m super spiritual or better than anyone else. No, He gives grace to those who He gives grace to. I am just so thankful! Thank You Lord!

    APPLICATION:

Do not forget where I came from and don’t forget how much God has done for me! Be humble and thankful at all times! Stay full of scripture with the filter in place! Let my thankfulness to God fuel a life that brings Him glory! Give back by serving others! Pray more. Thank You Lord!

3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. 4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7 if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. Rom 12:3–8

Every Christian is called to serve in the church. vs. 4-6 Those who are in Christ are always being changed more and more into the likeness of Jesus. If you are a part of the Lords church then you have been given a gift. No exceptions! Every Christian is called to serve in the church. vs. 6-8 The purpose of our gift is to use it to serve in the church. They are not for our own satisfaction!! 1 Peter 4:10 Serve one another! Don’t be lazy! Find out what your gift and calling are and use it to serve the Lord by serving other people! Your gift can be used by God to spread His Gospel! God expects us to use it for Him. He did not give us gifts to hoard and keep them locked in a closet. Church isn’t meant to be for me but is actually me. We are all one body! Working together in a real community towards glorifying God with our lives! You don’t know what God might do through our faithfulness! When the people of the church step up the whole body will benefit! The church body is only healthy when all of its parts are functioning correctly and in sink with each other.

Serving forces us to grow in humility! ROM 12:3 Serving is a forceful reminder that our life is not about us. It forces us to reorder all the things that we love. You can see our hearts in our actions and our priorities… God came to serve us by saving us from ourselves! Many like what the church can provide but don’t love enough to give back and contribute. Less then 50 percent are serving. If your to busy to serve in church then the church isn’t the problem but the active disobedience to God is your problem! If your not actively serving in the church you are robbing yourself of so many blessings and your cheating all your brothers and sisters around you. You have no clue what God can do through you. Are you serving???

How do you determine your spiritual gift? Start with prayer. Ask God what and how He wants us to serve! What do you enjoy? Do not assume that if you enjoy it that God is not in it! What are you good at? How can you use your gifts and talents to serve the Lord? God gave us all the gifts and talents we have for these very purposes. Find out where there is a need in the church and get involved! The priority is to serve and get involved asap!

    APPLICATION:

Continue to serve with the youth. I want to get involved with guys struggling with addiction. Help others fight the same battles I faced and face daily in this struggle against sin. Stay in the word and keep God’s filter in its proper place. Stay humble and thankful no matter what happens!

  • 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Rom 10:14–15

This is something that is very convicting for me! I need to be more bold when it comes to sharing my faith! I think a lot of Christians miss this part too. We know what God expects of us and we work hard removing everything from our lives that doesn’t bring Him glory. We get so focused on ourselves we forget the part where He tells us to tell others about His Good news! If we miss this we will stay self absorbed and even if we are doing things that bring us closer to God we are missing out on the gigantic blessing of seeing God use our very own story to help change other peoples lives. God has given each of us a personal testimony that He wants to use to help us to spread His Gospel! Don’t wait until you think your ready! Get up and go tell someone about it! Don’t let the fear of man interfere! That is your flesh and the enemy trying to destroy the work of the Lord. And it doesn’t have to be a sermon either. Just find something or some way to relate and just talk like you would to a child or someone who is waiting to be free. Free from the chains and the bondage of sin! If God has given you freedom don’t wait to help others get that freedom! Don’t hide your light!

    APPLICATION:

Pray for boldness! Don’t miss opportunities at work to tell others about Jesus. Stay in the Word with the proper filter in my mind at all times! Practice with my kids and wife. Talk about Jesus more and pray with my wife every night! Don’t believe the lies from the enemy. Focus on the truth!

    IN HIS NAME!

  • Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. ROM 10

I was 8 years old and I was crying my eyes out at the Christmas Eve service when I told my mom I wanted to follow Jesus and I wanted Him to be the Lord of my life… She took me home and we got out her Bible and she took me straight to this verse. So much has happened since then… but when I read this passage I still get that same feeling in my stomach. I am here to confess that Jesus is Lord! And I confess that I’m a sinner who needs His saving grace. I confess that Jesus is Lord. But no matter how many times I say those words it wont change a thing if it doesn’t start in my heart. I believe that Jesus really is who He says He is and that He can do everything that He says He can do. So, now I will make my confession by how I live out the rest of my life. Your actions will reveal your heart. Am I going to surrender my life and serve Him or will I just continue to go through life only trying to make myself comfortable…?

I think our confession also includes telling people about Jesus. If you have news that it is so good that It can literally change someone’s life how could you keep it to yourself? We have been given a light in a lost and extremely dark world. Do not be selfish and keep all the light to yourself! Spread the light! Spread the love!! Don’t forget where God has brought you from! Save as many lost souls as you can! Speaking out openly about Jesus is a great way to confirm your own salvation. Don’t be scared. It will help you grow in faith and trust and courage… All from just telling people about what Christ has done in your life. Gospel=Good News. Start spreading the Gospel.

    APPLICATION:

I want to make a point to talking to others about Jesus. Especially when I’m at work. You have those moments when you look back and think, man I really could have been more godly. Or why did I do that or say that or why didn’t I talk about Jesus… I don’t want to waste any more opportunities to tell others about Jesus. Jesus saved me from death and a life of misery. He showed me a better way. I want to tell others about Him and what He has done in my life! Stay in the word! Make sure I’m using the proper filter when I’m going through my day! Memorize scripture. Be thankful!

4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:3–4

What can I do to make 2026 better?? Do my priorities match up with Jesus? Is my life devoted to prayer and God’s Word? Devoted= spend significant time, commitment, relentless! Everything changes when we are devoted to prayer! Prayer is the hardest work of all! Why do you think it’s so hard to get it done or to even remember to do anything at all…? The enemy knows the power of prayer! John 10:10 Do not fail to realize how powerful prayer is! Prayer exposes your level of faith and belief as well. If you truly believed that prayer worked I’m sure you would be doing it a whole lot more! Jer 33:3 Matt 19:26 Matt 21:22 Mark 11:24 John 16:24 1 John 5:14-15 Do you believe the promises of God? Your actions will tell the story! God is waiting and He delights in our prayers! Always remember to keep your motives in check! James 4 DO THIS TODAY: Set aside time to pray everyday! Make a prayer list. Commit to praying for that list everyday. Pray God’s word over all your requests! God’s Word is our ammunition for fighting against the flesh and the enemy that wants to destroy us! You don’t have to fight on your own cause we have the Word to help us! The Word is the answer to every question you could ever have. Get in it!

Everything changes when you’re devoted to the Word. God’s Word is the ultimate power source! Read it daily and use it to guide your actions and your thinking. Study it and practice it. Ezra 7:10 Tell other people about it! Hear God’s Word- Rom 10:17 Read God’s Word- Rev 1:3 Study God’s Word- Acts 17:11 Memorize God’s Word- Psalm 119:11 Hide His Word in your heart! Meditate on God’s Word- Joshua 1:8 Let God’s Word move from your head down into your heart and let it change everything about you! You can literally never get enough! Thank You Lord!

    APPLICATION:

Have a plan. Plan time to read and pray everyday! Spend time praying with my wife and my kids. Join a life group. Get involved and serve. Memorize and meditate on scripture! Let God’s Word take root in my heart so that it is the driving force for the rest of my time here on earth. Lord please give me the strength to change! Thank you for your Word and all your promises! Help me to be better!!!

  • Sermon notes                Pastor John Walker

17 On one of those days, as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with him to heal. 18 And behold, some men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus, 19 but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus. 20 And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22 When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, “Why do you question in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? 24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the man who was paralyzed—“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.” 25 And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God. 26 And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.” Luke 5:17–26.

Jesus literally means ” The LORD Saves ” Emmanuel = GOD WITH US> God comes to us! =) Jesus came to rescue us and to reveal just how much we need Him! We received God’s forgiveness only through Jesus! Do you really believe what Jesus says to be true? Jesus is always full of compassion. ROM 3:23 We all fall short and we all need to be saved! Jesus doesn’t have to appeal to anyone else when it comes to forgiving sins! How will you respond to Jesus??

Jesus’ forgiveness is given to those who come to Him in trust! vs. 20 Really let the truth about God sink into your life. Let it guide and lead your thoughts and actions and ultimately guide your life! True belief is always followed by action! Genuine faith has action! Jesus meets action with compassion and love! ROM 10:13 Jesus’ truth will always stay the same and never change only because of what He has done!

Jesus’ forgiveness is for those who come to Him in humility. vs. 22-23 Rom 3:10 Do not just appear to be righteous! Our lack of humility keeps us from Him. Humility is needed for salvation and again during our sanctification. Be humble and not prideful! Look at your struggles and try to see what God is trying to change in your life. 2 Cor 5:21 My righteousness comes from what Christ has done and has nothing to do with me! The greatest gift I can give my family is a humble heart! Model God’s grace to those around me and put God’s grace on display for the world to see! Don’t hide the light!

Jesus’ forgiveness should move us to grateful worship. vs 25-26 Do not hide the light of Christ. Do not ever lose that sense of awe and worship. Remember what Christ has done and what He continues to do daily! Genuine worship is expressed by obedience and compassion. Luke 7:47 A lack of love for God will show itself by a lack of love for other people! A lack of patience and compassion and generosity are all signs you don’t have the Lord in your heart! Or you are just in sin! Don’t grow cold in your heart. Read the Word and remember what Christ has done for you! Let that love and that passion ignite a fire that burns hot for God! And don’t look back! I need Jesus to do for me what I cannot do for myself! Remember that God is God and that I am not! Stay humble!

    APPLICATION:

Read the word! Write out all the things God has done for me! Use those things to guide my prayers and my thoughts. Ask God for help. Ask for wisdom and strength and courage! Ask Him for forgiveness and guidance into the future. Then worship and live like someone who has been saved from death! Don’t hide the truth. Spread the light of the Lord!!! Don’t be selfish or lazy! Please help me Lord for I cannot do this on my own!

10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10–11

FEAR NOT” the first words from the angel! The arrival of Jesus is good news! Sin= anything we say or do that fall short of God”s standard. Christ is saving us from our sin! Saving us from this world.>Romans 3:23 ALL HAVE SINNED> Romans 6:23 WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH! > James 2:10 YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE!! Reality doesn’t care about our thoughts and our feelings! The world is crumbling- WE NEED A SAVIOR! That is exactly why Jesus Christ is such good news. For everyone! Christ is God’s compassion and love. Here to rescue us from ourselves! Jesus came to suffer and die in our place for our sins. He died and rose again defeating death and ultimately giving us eternal peace!

The Good News is for all people! God is not impressed! He is not looking for achievement but a humble heart! Someone who knows he needs to be rescued! This rescue is for every kind of story! We need to remember where our worship should be and remember to live life like someone rescued from death!

Remember that Jesus is evidence of God’s unchanging heart! Jesus provides peace. Remember the heart of God. He is not surprised that I am a sinner! Don’t believe the lies from the enemy! Stop wandering! God’s saving heart is waiting for you! God does not change! There is nothing you can do to out sin the compassion of God! God sent Jesus for me and for you! He knew I needed a Savior! God sent His Son to save me only because of His character! It is because of nothing that I have done! Don’t forget that! Live like it. Choose Jesus right now!

    APPLICATION:

Read the word, read the word, read the word! I cannot trust the voices in my head! Live by the truth alone. Be humble and thankful!! Don’t hide the light! Thank You Jesus!

  • 15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. Rom 9:15–16

After spending a few days reading chapter nine you can really feel Paul’s passion for the lost. He even says He would take a curse upon himself if It meant the lost being saved. Completely selfless!! Such a shining example of how a godly man should live! He truly spent all his time trying to spread the Gospel. It is truly convicting and eye-opening to really think about that. Honestly I spend my days working and providing for my family and raising 4 kids. How often do I even think about spreading God’s Gospel? It’s hard enough to get time to even read and preach the Gospel to myself let alone other people… Lord please forgive me! Help me to change my priorities and put You first!

Paul goes on to give us more assurance of our salvation and a reminder of where it comes from. Don’t spend your life chasing a bunch of rules but by faith accept the Lord’s gift of grace and choose to live for Him and take yourself off the throne of your life. There is freedom and peace and happiness that can only come from living for Christ. Having that truth gives me assurance so I can fight with confidence and a passion that comes from thankfulness and humility. My position with Christ doesn’t depend on my actions or from the things I have done but they depend on Christ and what He has done. With that truth I can truly face anything! Thank You Lord! Please forgive me for my sins and help me to be better because you deserve it!

    APPLICATION:

I want to really live in the confidence of those truths. Stop worrying so much and focus on the Lord and His work. The reason we are really here. Keep applying God’s word to my life. Tell people about Jesus! Let His light shine! Stay humble and always be thankful!

68  “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people 69  and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, 70  as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old, 71  that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us; 72  to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant, 73  the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us 74  that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, 75  in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. 76  And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, 77  to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, 78  because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high 79  to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Lk 1:68–79

In Jesus we encounter the faithfulness of God. The entire old testament is a testimony to Jesus! Points right at Him and is all about God’s redemptive restoration of not so worthy people. God shows compassion and commitment and faithfulness to us by sending His very own son to save us. God will always do everything that He has said and will always keep every promise He has made. Jesus is proof of God’s faithfulness!

Jesus is evidence of God’s faithfulness to us eternally. vs.68 There is only one way to God and that is through Jesus! We are all desperate and lost and we all need a savior. The Christmas story is all about Jesus making us a path to God… Jesus came because He knew we needed Him!

Jesus is evidence of God’s faithfulness to us presently. vs.74-75 John 3:16 Romans 8:32 God is faithful! Christmas is proof of God’s wonderful character! Romans 8:28 HIS GOOD & HIS PURPOSES. GOD PROMISES PEACE Phil 4:6-7 PROVISION 2 Cor 9:8 PRESENCE Heb 13:5 Matt 20:20 Ps 23:4

God calls us to stand for righteousness and to stand against sin! To admit when we are wrong! Be man enough to ask for help! Forgive others for their sin against you and not just the easy forgivable ones… We are called to endure and to suffer well! Just remember that the valley is not the destination! And that we cannot do a thing, not a single part of this, without the awesome power of the Holy Spirit living in and through us! You will never learn if you don’t have suffering and trials. Testify to how good God is! Shine His light from the roof tops! ROMANS 8:18 Incomparable to what is coming for us! Be thankful!!! Be Confident in Christ!

    APPLICATION:

Be faithful and be patient! Rest in the promises of Heaven. Jesus is coming back so live like it! Be grateful in the present! Don’t miss any of the blessings that the Lord is giving. Don’t ignore God’s blessing and don’t doubt God’s character! He is faithful even when I am not! Thank you Lord!!!

  • 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. Rom 8:27–30

If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Rom 8:31–32

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? Rom 8:35

38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:38–39

I wonder if Paul struggled with doubt? I think he knew how easily a thought can go from a flash through your mind into an action that brings a ton of fear and regret in an instance… Or how guilt and shame from your past can weigh on your shoulders and every time you see something a whole boat load of feelings and emotions can bombard your thoughts… That sometimes when you look at your kids you think of how much better their lives could have been if I wasn’t such a horrible person… All four of these verses bring assurance that can only come from Jesus! Promises that He is there and He will turn all things into good for His plans and purposes. That despite all my mistakes I can fight with confidence and know my Father is there and there is nothing that can separate me from Him. If God is for me then who can be against me?? It starts to make all my problems feel really small and not so important.

It also shows me that God is committed!! The God of the universe gave up His son so that we could have a right relationship together. And the thing He is making right is me… He is committed and He shows that by His sacrificial love. That is what makes me want to change and be different. Out of love and humility and thankfulness I want to serve my Savior! He saved me from death and gave me new life. Now I live the rest of my life for Him serving him and repaying Him for that love and sacrifice He already made for me! And when I mess up I pick myself up and run right back into His arms. It’s a love you cannot break by actions because my actions had nothing to do with earning it. Lord I pray your will be done with my life and thank you for everything you do!!

    APPLICATION:

Live with confidence. Don’t listen to the lies from the enemy. Continue to fill my mind with the Word first thing in the morning. Let the word permeate itself throughout my day. Don’t be afraid to talk about Jesus!! Share the light! Don’t hide in the darkness! Expose all the darkness! Be humble. Stay thankful!
